Technical Data - Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Floor Paint
Renovate and transform the floors in your home with Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Floor Paint. Decorative and protective, this hard-wearing water-based paint will resist knocks and scratches.
Preparation: For best results, ensure surface is clean and free from wax or oil. If wax has been used clean the surface thoroughly with white spirit. We recommend that bare wood, previously painted or varnished surfaces should be sanded before painting. Ensure new concrete is sound, fully cured and free from laitance.
Application: Apply when temperature is between 10 and 30ºC. Stir thoroughly prior to use. The product may be applied by brush or roller. If applying by brush, apply evenly following the grain of the wood. If rollering, use a short nap mohair roller. Two coats are recommended.
Coverage: Up to 14m2 / litre. Coverage may vary depending upon method and rate of application and porosity of surface.
Drying Time: Touch dry in 1 hour. Apply a second coat after 4 hours, if necessary. Allow 24 hours before putting room back into use. Full hardness achieved after 7 days - do not wash floor during this period.
Clean Up: Remove as much product as possible from application equipment before washing with water. Do not empty into drains or water courses. Some local authorities have special facilities for the disposal of waste coatings.
Limitations: Not for use directly onto metal. Not a stain-blocking product. Prime any surfaces where stain bleed may be an issue, including knots with an appropriate stain blocking primer. If unsure, test on an inconspicuous area before painting. Not recommended for outdoor use or areas subject to regular water contact, e.g. bathrooms or areas subject to heavy wear such as garage floors. Not recommended for tiles or laminate flooring.
