Technical Data - Rust-Oleum Garden Paint
Preparation: Ensure surface is clean, dry and free from contamination. Ensure any mould or mildew has been removed and surfaces treated with a proprietary fungicidal solution. If wax or oil has previously been used on the item, clean the surface thoroughly with white spirit. If painting over hard,
glossy existing paint abrade the surface before application. Treat bare timber with a suitable wood preservative where required prior topainting. To ensure paint suitability test on a small inconspicuous area first.
Application: Stir thoroughly before use. The product may be applied by brush, roller or electric paint sprayer. If applying by brush, apply evenly, following the grain of the wood. If rollering, use a short to medium nap mohair roller. If spraying, paint should be diluted with water by 10-20% as required. Two coats are recommended.
Coverage: Up to 14m2/L per coat. Coverage may vary depending upon application method, rate of application and porosity of the surface.
Drying Time: Touch dry in 1 hour. Hard dry in 4 hours. May be over coated after 4 hours.
Clean Up: Remove as much product as possible from application equipment before washing with water. Do not empty into drains or water courses. Some local authorities have special facilities for the disposal of waste paint.
Limitations: Not for use directly onto bare or galvanised metal surfaces. Use a suitable metal primer if necessary. Not a stain blocking product. Prime any
surfaces where stain bleed may be an issue, including knots. Temperature at time of application and during drying should be greater than 10oC. Do not apply in direct sunlight or if rain is imminent. Not suitable for roof areas, decking and areas where ponding water occurs, or surfaces that will be immersed in water.
