Right: Grape Soda

Step by step guide – Guardian Wall Paint

You will need

·        Guardian Mould-Resistant Wall Paint*

·        Rust-Oleum Sugar Soap

·        Large Ready to Roll Kit

·        Paint stirrer

·        Paint scraper

·        Mould killer and remover (if required)

·        Stain-blocking primer (if required)

Step 1

Start by ensuring your wall is clean and free from dirt, mould, and mildew. Use Rust-Oleum Sugar Soap and a cloth to thoroughly clean the surface, effectively removing any contaminants. Once clean, rinse the area well with water to eliminate any soap residue and allow the surface to dry.

Step 2

Use a scraper or sanding block to remove any loose or flaking paint, and fill any cracks or surface defects with a suitable filler. Sand the area until smooth to ensure a sound surface before painting.

Step 3

If there are any signs of mould or mildew, treat these areas with a proprietary mould killer and remover. Follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully and allow the treated areas to dry. For walls with stubborn or significant mould stains, apply an appropriate stain-blocking primer. This will help seal the stains and provide a uniform base for the topcoat, enhancing the durability and appearance of the final paint finish. Before application, stir the Guardian Mould-Resistant* Wall Paint thoroughly.

Step 4

Using a brush or roller, from our Large Ready to Roll Kit, apply the first coat of paint. Ensure even coverage, and allow the paint to dry for at least 4 hours before applying a second coat. The second coat will enhance the durability and finish of the paint, providing long-lasting protection against mould and mildew.

·Guardian Mould-Resistant† Interior Wood Paint

·Rust-Oleum Sugar Soap

·Large Ready to Roll Kit

·Paint stirrer

·Paint scraper

·Mould killer and remover (if required)

·Stain-blocking primer (if required)

Step 1

Ensure that your woodwork is clean and free from dirt, oil, wax, mould and mildew by using Rust-Oleum Sugar Soap. Rinse the area well with clean water to remove any remaining residue and allow to dry.

Step 2

Use a scraper or sanding block to carefully remove any loose or flaking paint, creating a sound surface for the new paint to adhere to.

Step 3

If necessary, block any remaining mould stains or knots with an appropriate primer to prevent them from bleeding through the topcoat. Stir the Guardian Mould-Resistant* Interior Wood Paint thoroughly before painting.

Step 4

Apply two coats of Guardian Mould-Resistant* Interior Wood Paint using a brush, roller, or electric sprayer, allowing 4 hours drying time between coats.
