Are you looking to create a colour palette for your home, but confused about how to combine colours in a cohesive way? Let us walk you through the basics of how to design a beautiful colour palette that will perfectly match your favourite shades and your home's light and space.
Monochromatic Colour Schemes
One main colour in various tints, tones and shades, this scheme creates a calm, harmonious look that enhances your furniture and accessories.
A tint is a base colour + white, a tone is a base colour + grey and a shade is a base colour + black.
Complementary Colour Scheme
This scheme uses colours that are opposite each other on the colour wheel, and will contrast and complement one another. A colour scheme of complementary opposites also needs to be carefully considered to achieve balance. When strong colours are included among them, it is often best to offset with neutrals.
