How to create a metallic stationery cart

Looking to add a personal touch to your workspace? In this handy guide, we'll show you how to transform a stationery cart with a sleek metallic sheen.

You will need:

- Stationery Cart
- Rust-Oleum Surface Primer 400ml
- Rust-Oleum Gunmetal Metallic 400ml
- Clean sponge or cloth

Step 1

First things first, put the stationery cart together and move it to a well-ventilated area.

Place a large dust sheet or old newspapers underneath the cart, and protect nearby surfaces with extra coverings in case there's any spray mist. Clean the cart with a damp cloth and leave to dry.

Step 2

Apply up to two coats of Rust-Oleum Surface Primer, holding the can roughly 30cm away from the cart. Leave at least four hours in between each coat.

Step 3

Shake the can of Rust-Oleum Gunmetal Metallic thoroughly before use. Hold the can about 30 cm from the cart’s surface and spray using steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Maintain the same distance from the surface and keep the can moving at all times for an even finish.

Apply several light coats, allowing a few minutes between each coat. Leave the cart to dry in a well-ventilated area for 24 hours.

And that's it!
