How to create Colourful Hexagon Corkboards
Looking for an aesthetically pleasing way of organising your to-do lists and greetings cards? Read on to discover how to create your own colourful hexagon corkboard with this simple DIY.
You will need:
- Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch Spray Paint
- Sheet of cork
- Cutting mat
- Pen
- Ruler
- Utility knife
- Tape
- Paper template
Step 1
Use a marker pen to mark out a design on the back of the cork. Use a ruler to ensure straight lines.
Step 2
After placing the cork on a cutting mat, use a utility knife to carefully cut out your hexagon shapes. You may need to go over each line a couple of times depending on how thick your cork is.
Step 3
Mask any areas you do not wish to paint on the front of each cork hexagon. Ensure each piece of tape is pressed down firmly.
Step 4
Spray the Painter's Touch roughly 30cm away from the surface of the cork, spraying in a steady back and forth motion and slightly overlapping with each stroke. Keep the can the same distance from the surface while spraying and keep it in motion. The paint will absorb into the cork, so make sure to apply several light coats for a few minutes apart for full coverage.
And that's it!
