How to make a rainbow care package
In this DIY, we'll show you how to create a colourful charm using our Craft Paint and air clay. Send it in the post as part of a care package to brighten a loved one's day.
You will need:
- White air clay
- Rolling pin
- Scalpel
- Toothpick
- Paint stirrer
- Tin opener
- Artist's brushes
- String
- Wooden beads
- Round cookie cutter or drinking glass
Step 1
Roll out the clay to approximately 2 cm thickness. Use a round cookie cutter (or glass from your kitchen) to cut out circles, and cut the circles in half to create two rainbows.
Step 2
Using a toothpick, poke a hole through the top of your rainbow. Smooth out edges with your finger and leave to dry overnight under a book. This will ensure that they dry flat.
Step 3
To decorate, use Rust-Oleum Craft Paint. There’s also no need to prime as the paint will stick to virtually any surface! Once decorated with your chosen shades, leave to dry.
Step 4
Next, place your string through the hole at the top of your rainbow. Thread the wooden beads onto the thin twine and your ornaments are ready for gifting.
