Looking to spruce up your exteriors? Our Garage Door Paint, from the Metal Expert range, is a simple yet effective way to refresh your garage door.
With an ultra-durable formula, specifically designed to protect against severe weather, read on to find out how to give your garage door a long-lasting, water-shedding finish.
You will need:
- Metal Expert Garage Door Paint
- Brush or roller
- Cleaner / Degreaser such as Krud Kutter
- Clean cloth
- Paint stirrer
- Masking tape
- Scraper, wire brush or sanding block
Step 1
Use a scraper, wire brush or sanding block to remove any loose paint or rust on your garage door. After ensuring that you have a smooth surface, clean the door with Krud Kutter Cleaner / Degreaser to remove any contaminants.
Wipe the surface with a damp cloth and allow to dry. Next, make sure to mask off the edge of the garage door and any areas you do not wish to paint.
Tip: Lay down a dust sheet to protect your drive from paint splatters. Protect yourself with a mask or goggles.
Step 2
Make sure to stir the Metal Expert Garage Door Paint thoroughly before use. We used Black RAL 9005.
Step 3
Apply the paint by brush or use a short to medium nap mohair roller. We recommend two coats of Garage Door Paint for a flawless finish. Allow 4 hours drying time between coats.
And that's it!
