Technical Data - Bathroom Wall Paint
Rust-Oleum Bathroom Wall Paint is a scrubbable matt finish designed to withstand condensation and moisture on bathroom walls and ceilings.
Preparation: For best results, ensure surfaces are clean and free from dirt, mould and mildew and any surface contamination. Remove any loose, flaking paint back to a firm, smooth edge. Fill any cracks or defects with a proprietary filler in accordance with manufacturers instructions. Clean the surface well with a suitable detergent where required, rinse well to remove any detergent residues and allow the surface to dry. Treat any mould or mildew with a proprietary mould killer and remover in accordance with the manufacturers instructions. Allow the surface to dry thoroughly before applying the paint. Previously painted and light porous substrates can be coated directly with Rust-Oleum Bathroom Wall Paint. Very porous surfaces should be appropriately sealed prior to application of Rust-Oleum Bathroom Wall Paint. Bare metals should be appropriately primed. Rust-Oleum Bathroom Wall Paint is not a stain blocking product. If necessary, prime with a suitable stain blocker as appropriate.
Application: Stir thoroughly prior to use. The product may be applied by brush or medium pile roller. For optimum results two coats are required.
Coverage: Up to 12m²/l per coat. Coverage may vary depending upon method and rate of application and porosity of surface.
Drying Time: Touch dry in 2 hours. Apply a second coat after a minimum of 2 hours. Hard dry in 4 hours, full hardness achieved after 7 days.
Clean Up: Remove as much product as possible from application equipment before washing with water. Do not empty into drains or water courses. Some local authorities have special facilities for the disposal of waste coatings.
Limitations: For interior use only. Not suitable for areas in direct contact with water such as shower enclosures or for areas immersed in water. For optimum results apply when conditions in the bathroom are warm and dry, ideally above 10°C with no chance of moisture affecting the freshly applied paint before it is fully dry. Application of another paint over the Rust-Oleum Bathroom Wall Paint will nullify the mould and mildew resistant properties. To ensure paint suitability for your particular project test on a small inconspicuous area first. Easy-Clean: Use a soft cloth and warm soapy water. Do not use scourers or abrasive cleaners as these may mark the paint finish.
Shelf Life: 2 years (unopened) from date of manufacture. (See base of can).
