What are jewel tones?

Jewel tones are deep, saturated colours, reminiscent of gemstones such as ruby, garnet, sapphire, amethyst, topaz and emerald. Jewel coloured schemes are associated with luxury and grandeur, providing spaces with intensity and depth. Dazzling Jewel tones are perfect for adding instant sparkle, while creating a cosiness that’s perfect for the cooler months.

Amythest purple

A deep regal purple with a hint of black, Grape Soda is an elegant jewel-tone that effortlessly commands a space. This statement shade lends itself to a striking colour drench, with walls and woodwork blending seamlessly for an enveloping effect.

Soften purple paint with accents of smoky grey, contrast with pops of pale yellow, or create a ‘jewel box’ look with a tonally similar shade like burgundy. Accessorize with polished gold accents, opulent frames and plush velvet furnishings for the ultimate luxury.

Garnet red

Valentina is a dark cherry red with a warm brown undertone. While our vivid, pink-toned red Soho is more of a ruby, Valentina is a deep garnet with an extra level of sophistication. Valentina is one of our most popular jewelled tones because it brings drama while still grounding a space, for a liveable red colour scheme.

This refined red paint looks great when paired with a complementary colour, like deep emerald green, as the earthiness of the shade creates a sophisticated palette that doesn’t overwhelm.

Sapphire blue

Our deep, inky blue Odyssey is a versatile jewel-tone, that gently absorbs light to create a serene, mellow atmosphere. Navy blue paint is timeless as it pairs well with a variety shades, from burnt orange to blush pink.

For an opulent yet contemporary space, try pairing deep sapphire blue Odyssey with a similar shade, such as teal, to create a tonal effect. Incorporate intricate accessories, like an ornate mirror, but paint them crisp white for a striking modern twist.

Emerald green

A dark green paint with just a hint of blue, The Pinewoods is an elegant emerald that effortlessly creates cosiness and depth. This rich, restorative shade balances the lush greens found in nature with the opulence of a jewel tone. Perfect for creating serene, grounded spaces with a touch of glamour.

Incorporate a contrasting complementary colour, such as pale pink, to enhance the intensity of the green, or add leafy plants and natural textures to create a more organic feel.
