It's ideal for use in the nursery or playroom too, as the paint is Certified Toy Safe.

Apply by brush or roller directly onto wood (bare, painted or varnished). No priming or sanding necessary on most surfaces.* And no need to wax or lacquer your finished paint work, either. It is, quite literally, brilliant.

So, what are the best colours for gloss furniture paint?

Choosing the right colour is personal, but we recommend a soft green, sleek black, cool grey or classic white to make your gloss furniture really shine.

Gloss vs. satin paint

What's the difference between gloss and satin? Gloss provides a high-shine, polished finish, compared to the sublte mid-sheen of satin paint. Our Gloss Furniture Paint has a sheen level of approx 80% at 60°.

Why does gloss paint go yellow?

Gloss paint can go yellow due to the oxidation of alkyd based paint, heat from household items or a lack of natural light. However, Rust-Oleum Gloss Furniture Paint is non-yellowing as it is based on hard acrylic resin rather than an alkyd.

How to use Rust-Oleum Gloss Finish Furniture Paint

Technical Data - Rust-Oleum Gloss Finish Furniture Paint

Make a statement with a bold, gloss pain finish on furniture. Specially designed to give a durable and long-lasting gloss effect on wood (bare or painted), brick, stone, plaster or any suitable primer rigid surface. No priming necessary om most surfaces.

Preparation: For best results, ensure surface is clean and free from wax or oil. If wax has been used clean the surface thoroughly with white spirit. We recommend that bare wood should be sanded before painting.

Application: Stir thoroughly prior to use. The product may be applied by brush or roller. If applying by brush, apply evenly following the grain of the wood. If rollering, use a short nap mohair roller. Two coats recommended.

Coverage: Up to 14m2 / litre. Coverage may vary depending upon method and rate of application and porosity of surface.

Drying Time: Touch dry in 1 hour. Handle after 4 hours. Apply a second coat after 4 hours, if necessary.

Clean Up: Remove as much product as possible from application equipment before washing with water. Do not empty into drains or water courses. Some local authorities have special facilities for the disposal of waste coatings.

Limitations: Not for use directly onto metal. Not a stain-blocking product. Prime any surfaces where stain bleed may be an issue, including knots, with a suitable stain primer. Advisable to use a primer/sealer on very porous surfaces. If unsure, test on an inconspicuous area before painting. Not recommended for outdoor use. Whilst every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of colour, due to limitations of the print process colour/finish shown is for guidance only. To ensure paint suitability test on a small inconspicuous area first.

Shelf Life: 2 years (unopened) from date of manufacture. (See base of can).
