Technical Data - Rust-Oleum Bathroom Tile Paint
Preparation: For best results, ensure surface is thoroughly clean and free from contamination. Use sugar soap equivalent to remove all traces of contamination, rinse surface afterwards with water. Make good any repairs to failing grouting. Around sinks or wet areas it is advisable to apply the
Bathroom Tile Paint first then apply silicone sealer over the paint where necessary (eg. between wall tiles and sink top)
Application: Apply when temperature is between 10 and 30ºC. Add the activator to the base and stir thoroughly until the mixture is uniform. Use the product within 5 days of mixing. The product may be applied by brush or roller. Two coats are recommended. It is important that, once activated, the paint must be used within 5 days – after this time it will thicken up and become unusable.
Coverage: : Up to 14m2/litre per coat. Coverage may vary depending upon method and rate of application and porosity of surface.
Drying Time: : Touch dry in 1 hour. Hard dry in 4 hours. May be over coated after 4 hours. Full cure achieved after 7 days - take extra care during use in this time.
Clean Up: : Remove as much product as possible from application equipment before washing with water. Do not empty into drains or water courses. Some local authorities have special facilities for the disposal of waste coatings.
Limitations: Try to limit water contact during the first few days after application, until paint achieves full cure. Not for use directly onto metal. Not a stain blocking product. If unsure, test on an inconspicuous area before painting. Do not use abrasive cleaners to clean the product, use a damp cloth only. Some items may stain the product, remove any spills immediately to stop this or minimize the effect. Not suitable for use on a bath or any surface regularly
immersed in water. Temperature at time of application and during drying should be greater than 10°C.
